Assam Survey Number Map: Dag Number, Jamabandi & Dharitree

Overview

In Assam, a plot's survey number is its Dag Number, recorded in the Jamabandi (Record of Rights) on the state's Dharitree portal. Zoom to your land on the map above and its dag-number boundary appears — you don't need to know the number to start.

Below: what the survey number is called in Assam, which record it sits in, which official portal to use for what, and how to find any plot by location.

One plot, many names — which one is the ‘survey number’?

Dag Number (দাগ নম্বর)

Assam's plot/survey number — the unique ID for a parcel in the cadastral record.

Jamabandi (জমাবন্দী)

The Record of Rights listing the dag number, area, pattadar (owner) and revenue. This is where the dag number is recorded.

Chitha

The field/measurement book holding the detailed dag entries.

Myadi vs Eksonia Patta

Myadi (periodic) patta is permanent, heritable land; Eksonia (annual) patta is temporary. Check the patta type before buying.

Dharitree / ILRMS

Dharitree is the online land-records portal; ILRMS is Assam's integrated land-records system behind it.

In Assam the survey number is the Dag Number, recorded in the Jamabandi. Confirm whether the land is Myadi (permanent) or Eksonia (annual) patta before any transaction — only Myadi patta land is securely heritable and transferable.

The one thing the government portal can't do

Dharitree asks for the dag or patta number before it shows you anything. 1acre works the other way round: start from the land. Search a village or drop a pin on the plot and the dag (survey) number boundary appears on the map. Then take that number to the official portal for the certified record. Map-first is the search a land buyer actually needs — and no state portal offers it.
