Which khasra numbers actually adjoin, and do they match the boundaries the seller narrated? Does any recorded route reach the plot, or is access a neighbourly custom a sale would end? And is the number you are shown on the ground the number drawn on the sheet, the wrong-plot mistake being the oldest one in the book?
Then walk it, sheet in hand, neighbours present, and let the drawn, remembered and cultivated lines argue to a conclusion. Where they cannot, UP's answer is the survey through the tehsil machinery: measurement on notice, the demarcation fixed by process rather than by the loudest memory, and worth its fee wherever a boundary carries money.
