Khasra / Gata Details: The Field's Own Diary

Read it for the ground truth the account cannot carry. The khatauni's holder may live in Ghaziabad while the khasra's seasons record a cultivator in the village, and that gap, owner here, tiller there, is exactly the fact a buyer needs surfaced early, because possession in UP has legal weight, social weight and, in the wrong circumstances, litigation weight. The diary tells you whose story the ground supports.

Read it too for the plot's own biography: category changes, fallow years, entries that suggest use drifting from the record's class, trees, structures, the details that seasonal inspection wrote down. A khasra whose recent pages agree with what you saw on your visit corroborates the whole file; one that disagrees is a question wearing a register's clothes.

And use it as the number's birth certificate. Where deeds, accounts and maps quarrel about khasra versus gata, subdivided suffixes, or consolidation's renumbering, the field register and the tehsil's correspondence records are where the plot's identity gets settled, before the argument becomes a purchase.
