Question 1

Do I need an NOC to build near Chabua Air Force Station in Dibrugarh?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Any structure inside the restricted radius around Chabua needs height clearance before construction. The requirement applies regardless of how tall your building is or which locality the plot sits in.

Question 2

Who issues the NOC for construction near a military airfield?

Accepted Answer

For Chabua, defence authorities issue it, not the civil airports authority. Military aerodromes manage their own obstacle-limitation surfaces, so the application and clearance run through the defence channel.

Question 3

What is the air funnel zone and how does it limit building height?

Accepted Answer

The funnel is the runway approach corridor. Permitted height rises with distance, roughly 2 percent of the distance from the runway edge, so a plot near the runway end faces a very low ceiling.

Question 4

How far from Chabua does the height restriction apply?

Accepted Answer

Height limits are tightest within about 4 km, where structures cap near 45 metres. A No Objection Certificate is required within roughly 20 km of the base for any structure.

Question 5

Is it safe to buy plots near Air Force Chabua?

Accepted Answer

For a low home, usually yes, if title is clean. For anything tall, treat it as high risk, since the funnel and defence NOC can block the height you paid a premium to build.
