Question 1

Has the Bihar Special Land Survey already finished in Nalanda district?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Nalanda was part of Phase 1, covering 20 districts, which the state government has already completed, unlike Phase 2 districts still filing declarations against a deadline extended to July 2026.

Question 2

What should I check if my district's survey is already complete?

Accepted Answer

Ask for the new, post-Special Survey Khatiyan specifically, and compare it against any older Jamabandi the seller shows you. Resurveys can adjust boundaries, area, or ownership entries that differ from older records.

Question 3

How long is the Salepur-Rajgir Greenfield Highway and when will it open?

Accepted Answer

It runs roughly 27 kilometres on NH-82. Construction tendering was finalised in early 2024, with completion originally targeted for the end of 2026.

Question 4

Which villages does the new highway actually pass through?

Accepted Answer

The alignment runs from Salepur to Rajgir via Noorsarai, Ahiyapur, and Silao in Nalanda district, and land near these specific villages sees the most direct construction-era activity.

Question 5

Is there a rail alternative to reach Rajgir from Patna?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Rajgir-Patna Intercity Express, launched in April 2026, runs daily and covers the roughly 99-kilometre distance in under four hours, stopping at Nalanda and Harnaut along the way.

Question 6

What is Bhu Naksha and why does it matter near a new highway?

Accepted Answer

Bhu Naksha is Bihar's digital plot boundary map. Near an active road project, it helps confirm whether a parcel's boundaries still match its pre-construction record or have shifted due to acquisition.

Question 7

Who is building the Salepur-Rajgir highway, NHAI or the state government?

Accepted Answer

The state government, through Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam, is executing this project, distinct from the National Highways Authority of India, which handles most other named expressways in this series.

Question 8

What is the Rajgir Buddhist Circuit and why does it matter for land demand?

Accepted Answer

It is a pilgrimage and heritage tourism route anchored by Rajgir and the nearby UNESCO-listed Nalanda ruins. This established tourism draw already generates demand independent of the highway, which simply adds faster access to it.
