Both. Jamnagar Airport, officially Civil Enclave Jamnagar, is owned by the Indian Air Force but operated on the civil side by the Airports Authority of India, permitting both commercial and private flights.

Question 2

Why does Jamnagar Airport have an unusual flight pattern compared to other airports?

Accepted Answer

Its catchment is dominated by Reliance Industries' Jamnagar Refinery and associated industrial clusters rather than tourism, producing a flight pattern that resembles industrial rotation scheduling more than typical passenger travel.

What is special about Jamnagar having two runways?

Accepted Answer

It is the only airport in Gujarat with two runways, meaning it generates two separate approach and departure funnel zones that must each be checked independently for any nearby construction.

Question 4

The national CAR Section 3, Series C, Part II framework applies, including a Horizontal Surface capped near 45 metres within 4 km, plus Conical, Approach, and Transitional surfaces with their own specific slope gradients.

Accepted Answer

Approximately 35 to 45 kilometres away at Motikhavdi. It is the primary driver of Jamnagar's air traffic but sits well outside the airport's own funnel zone restrictions.

Question 7

Accepted Answer

Very likely within the applicable Horizontal, Conical, Approach, or Transitional surface zones defined by CAR regulations, and given the two-runway layout, clearance should be checked against both alignments.

Accepted Answer

The most recent reporting year showed passengers down slightly at 0.2 percent, while aircraft movements rose 13.5 percent, reflecting its industrial rather than passenger-driven traffic pattern.
