Is an NOC required to build near an IAF base in Hyderabad?

Yes, and often two NOCs. One from AAI under the Aircraft Act for height clearance, and a separate one from local military authority under the Works of Defence Act depending on distance.

Can I build near Hakimpet Air Force Station?

Only outside the restricted bands. Within 100 meters construction is generally barred, and buildings over four floors need clearance out to 500 meters.

What is the Works of Defence Act 1903 and how does it apply to Dundigal?

A colonial-era law, still active, that lets military authorities restrict construction near defence establishments like the Dundigal Air Force Academy independent of civil aviation height rules.

How far does the height restriction extend from Dundigal Air Force Academy?

The defence-side limit runs to 500 meters for taller buildings, while the AAI's height clearance zone extends further based on the aerodrome's colour-coded zoning map.

Do civil AAI height rules apply to military airbases like Hakimpet?

Yes. The Aircraft Act, 1934 covers any notified aerodrome, so an IAF air funnel zone Hyderabad location still needs AAI clearance on top of any defence-specific restriction.

Is land near Dundigal and Hakimpet safe to buy for construction?

It can be, well outside the restricted bands, but always confirm both AAI permissible elevation and the defence distance rule before assuming a plot is buildable.

What happens if I build without a defence NOC near these bases?

Courts have both upheld and struck down enforcement depending on whether the restriction had proper statutory backing, so unauthorized construction carries real legal risk either way.

Which authority issues height clearance near Hyderabad's IAF installations?

AAI issues civil height clearance through NOCAS, while the local military Commanding Officer or station HQ handles Works of Defence Act approvals.
