Question 1

Do I need an NOC to build near Gorakhpur Airport?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Any structure inside the restricted radius around the airfield needs height clearance before construction, at any height. This covers the airport-adjacent colonies, not only the plots right at the boundary.

Question 2

Who issues the NOC for a civil enclave on an Air Force base?

Accepted Answer

For Gorakhpur, defence authorities issue it, since the airfield is IAF-owned. AAI runs the civil terminal, but height clearances move through the military channel and tend to be stricter.

Question 3

What is the air funnel zone and how does it limit building height?

Accepted Answer

The funnel is the runway approach corridor. Permitted height rises with distance, roughly 2 percent of the distance from the runway edge, so plots near the runway 11/29 ends face a low ceiling.

Question 4

How far from Gorakhpur Airport does the height restriction apply?

Accepted Answer

Limits are tightest within about 4 km, where most structures cap near 45 metres. A No Objection Certificate is required within roughly 20 km of the airfield for any structure.

Question 5

Are plots near Gorakhpur Airport and AIIMS a safe investment?

Accepted Answer

For a low home on clear title, generally yes. For tall construction, treat it cautiously, because the funnel and defence NOC can block the height the airport-proximity price already assumes.

Question 6

How do I verify land ownership before buying in Gorakhpur?

Accepted Answer

Check the title on Uttar Pradesh land records before paying, confirm any layout is a GDA-approved plot Gorakhpur buyers can register cleanly, and match the survey number to the funnel map first.
